Why Guest Blogging Still Matters — And How You Can Contribute to the AMEC Alert Newsletter

In a digital landscape saturated with fleeting trends and ever-changing algorithms, one strategy continues to prove its worth time and time again: guest blogging.

But first what is guest blogging?

Guest blogging (or guest posting) is when you write and publish an article on someone else’s platform, usually a blog, newsletter, or publication, instead of your own.

Guest blogging offers more than just a byline. It builds credibility, extends your reach, and reinforces your position as a thought leader in your industry. And if you’re part of the media intelligence or measurement community, there’s no better place to make your voice heard than in the AMEC Alert newsletter.

Why should you consider guest blogging?

1. Contribute to knowledge sharing

At its heart, AMEC champions knowledge sharing. By contributing your insights, you’re not just promoting an idea, you’re helping elevate the collective expertise of our global community.

2. Gain visibility

Whether you’re an emerging voice or a seasoned leader, guest blogging gives you the opportunity to publish in front of new, highly relevant audiences. It’s an opportunity to raise your profile and gain recognition for your work.

3. Share ideas, spark dialogue

Guest posts are not just about what you say, they’re about starting conversations. They allow you to introduce fresh perspectives, challenge assumptions, and contribute meaningfully to the wider discourse within your field.

4. Expand your professional network

Publishing a guest article often sparks conversation which can lead to meaningful connections. From LinkedIn comments to direct emails, thoughtful content has a way of opening doors to new professional relationships and even collaboration opportunities.

5. Boost discoverability and SEO

When your article is linked or referenced, it contributes to your broader digital footprint. That means improved discoverability online and increased traffic to your own platforms, all through leveraging a respected, high-authority source.

What We’re Looking For

There are no strict guidelines or formatting rules, but we prioritise insight-driven, non-promotional content. Submissions should offer value to the community, whether it’s a case study, a trend analysis, a challenge you’ve overcome, or reflections on measurement strategy.

Articles that read like product pitches or tool rundowns without strategic context will not be accepted.
