International association for the measurement and evaluation of communication
Professor Jim Macnamara has been named the winner of the prestigious Don Bartholomew Award for Outstanding Service to the communications measurement and evaluation industry and AMEC. Sponsored by the International Association for Measurement and Evaluation of Communication (AMEC), the award was announced during the AMEC Awards event held in Bangkok May 17, as part of the AMEC Global Summit The award was made by Richard Bagnall, Chairman of AMEC and CEO of Prime Research UK.
Bagnall said: “Jim Macnamara is a thinker and collaborator who constantly challenges communications and PR professionals to embrace evaluation. “AMEC is proud to recognise the outstanding contribution Jim has made in advancing the practice of measurement and evaluation.” Jim Macnamara is Professor of Public Communication in the School of Communication at the University of Technology, Sydney. He is also Visiting Professor at The London School of Economics and Political Science, Media and Communications Department. Macnamara is also a regular advisor, amongst others to the UK Government Communications Service. He has recently worked with the Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA) in developing new measurement guidance for its members He has been a strong supporter of AMEC’s work for a number of years and played a key role in developing the AMEC Integrated Evaluation Framework launched in 2016. He is also Chairman of the AMEC Academic Advisory Group. The award was renamed in 2016 to honour the memory of the late Don Bartholomew, Senior Vice President, Digital and Social Media research at Ketchum
