Measuring the Impact of Communications: From input measurement to impact

How do we assess the value and impact of communications and stakeholder engagement? Through examples and industry best practices, this session will introduce the World Bank Measurement and Evaluation Framework for Communications, and a new Guide for Communications Measurement aimed at helping communication staff at the World Bank Group apply the framework and learn best measurement practices. The session will close with a case study on how the framework was used to measure the impact of the Human Capital Strategic Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Plan.

Participants will gain insight using practical examples on:

·         Setting clear and measurable goals and objectives

·         Defining target audiences

·         Measuring outputs and outcomes to assess overall impact

·         Setting KPIs and aligning them to communications and engagement objectives and target audiences

·         Using the World Bank Group’s impact measurement framework to encourage continuous performance improvement

·         New tools and tactics available for measuring the impact of communications and stakeholder engagement
