During the Ceremony in London Raina said “It is both a privilege and an honour to stand before you today, as Chair of AMEC, to present this year’s Don Bartholomew Award for outstanding service to the measurement and evaluation industry.

Every year, this award is bestowed upon a truly exceptional individual—someone who has not only excelled in their profession but has also made remarkable contributions to AMEC and to the broader measurement community.

Today, we celebrate an extraordinary professional who has embodied the spirit of this award throughout her illustrious career.

I am delighted to announce that the 2024 Don Bartholomew Award goes to Dr. Anne Gregory.

Dr. Gregory is a name that resonates profoundly within the communications and measurement community. Her dedication to advancing our field, her commitment to research, and her unwavering support for AMEC are nothing short of inspirational.

Professor Emeritus of Corporate Communication at the University of Huddersfield, Anne’s academic work and professional influence extend across continents, through executive education programmes for the UK Government, as an Adjunct Professor at RMIT in Australia, and in leadership roles at universities from Johannesburg to Navarra.

Anne’s contributions reach far beyond academia. She has lent her expertise to the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, as a former President, leading it to chartered status. Her role as an advisor to the UK Government and reviewer of Government Communication Departments further illustrates her profound influence on the field, and her input has shaped significant policy and capability-building initiatives that support senior communicators at the highest levels of government.

Dr. Gregory’s influence within AMEC has been equally transformative. Her dedication to measurement and evaluation, her passion for developing tools that guide us toward best practices, and her unwavering support for AMEC’s mission have helped shape our community and strengthen its future.

Dr. Gregory’s career is an inspiration to us all. She exemplifies the values of AMEC and the spirit of Don Bartholomew, whose legacy lives on in the passion, vision, and dedication of today’s recipient.
