ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS AND THANKS

Thanks are due to AMEC’s Integrated Evaluation team who worked so hard to develop the original resource centre and Integrated Evaluation Framework, as well as more recently the planning resources that were added in 2021.

Special thanks to Jim Macnamara, Distinguished Professor in the School of Communication within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the  University of Technology Sydney who created the evaluation ‘taxonomy’ and graciously gave permission for AMEC to use and share it.  Jim also leads the AMEC Academic Advisory Group who gave of their time to provide input and feedback on the different iterations of this framework in its development.

Thank you to the core members of the Integrated Evaluation Framework team who generously gave so much of their time to work with me to develop the framework:

Finally I’d like to pay tribute and give special mention to friend of many in the global communications measurement community, Don Bartholomew, who sadly passed away in 2015. Don was author of the respected Metrics Man blog, and was SVP, digital and social media research at Ketchum. Don worked closely with me on the development of many of AMEC’s educational resources including the social media measurement frameworks in which he was my vice-chair.  Don and I realised that the industry needed one clear approach to measuring holistic communication, online and off, mainstream, social, and non-media. Don and I conceived the early versions of the framework together before illness sadly prevented him from contributing any more. Don’s thinking has been instrumental to the success of the Integrated Evaluation Framework and I have tried at all times to keep his approach at the front of mind – to make a framework that is sophisticated and meaningful but not impenetrable or too complex to use. I believe we have got the balance right and hope that Don would think so too, proud that his legacy lives on.
