Industry needs a wakeup call, says Big Ask Speaker
AMEC launched its consultation exercise with European members, clients and PR professionals in November at a packed “Big Ask” conference in London. Speakers were outspoken in their views that the AMEC and Coalition initiative to develop global social media measurement standards was overdue.

Awards entry extension
We have extended the deadlines for the Awards to give company and agency teams more time to write their entries. The new EarlyBird deadline is Monday 5th December, 2011. The Final entry deadline is Monday 12th December. An International panel of international communication experts chaired by Dr. David B. Rockland, Ph.D., Partner/CEO Ketchum Pleon Change and Global Research, will be our Awards Judges.

AMEC sets Three Year Strategy
Expanding AMEC's membership, continuing emphasis on knowledge share and online learning and the updating of the current Professional Code of Practice were amongst the main commitments made by the AMEC Board as part of its Three Year Strategy review. The Board will also be developing a new unified Mission Statement to better describe and differentiate AMEC's role.

Glimpse into Digital World
The largest global study into people's attitudes and behaviours online, has been published by TNS, part of the Kantar group. Called Digital Life, the study was based on conversations with over 72,000 people in 60 countries.

Digital Content Manager

PRSA Industry Call
The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) has introduced a new initiative to modernize the definition of public relations. Its new “Public Relations Defined” initiative will utilize a collaborative, industry-wide effort to develop a modern definition for the new era of public relations.
